Fear Will Not Win
Day 4 of 10
Today’s Scripture • Psalm 56:3–4
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”
Psalm 56:3–4 (NIV)
Devotional Reflection
Over the last three days, we have discovered that God’s love cannot be taken from us, His presence never leaves us, and His refuge is always open. Today we arrive at an important truth: faith does not mean we never feel afraid.
David, who wrote these words, knew what it was like to face danger, uncertainty and opposition. Yet he did not pretend that fear didn’t exist. Instead, he chose where to place his trust. His honesty gives us permission to acknowledge our own fears without allowing them to control our lives.
Trust is often a daily decision rather than a single moment. Every time fear knocks on the door of your heart, you have an opportunity to answer with faith. You may not always feel strong, but you can always choose to place your confidence in the God who is stronger than your circumstances.
Today, don’t be discouraged if fear still whispers. Instead, let every anxious thought become another invitation to trust the Lord, who remains faithful yesterday, today and forever.
Today’s Truth
I can trust God even when fear tries to overwhelm me.
Today’s Anchor
Fear may visit, but trust will remain in my heart.
Prayer
Father, thank You that I can bring every fear to You. Jesus, teach me to trust You more each day. Holy Spirit, replace anxiety with confidence in Your faithful care. Amen.
