Fear Will Not Win

Day 19 of 30

Today’s Scripture • Nehemiah 8:10

“Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

Nehemiah 8:10 (NIV)

Devotional Reflection

As your journey continues, you may notice that courage is beginning to feel more natural than fear. Not because life has become easier, but because your confidence is becoming firmly rooted in God’s faithfulness. Today, the Lord reminds you that your strength is found in His joy.

The joy God gives is very different from happiness. Happiness often depends upon favourable circumstances, but the joy of the Lord remains steady through every season of life. It is the quiet assurance that God is present, that He is in control and that His purposes for your life remain secure.

When Nehemiah spoke these words, God’s people had endured difficult days. Yet instead of remaining overwhelmed by the past, they were invited to rejoice in God’s goodness and faithfulness. Their strength was renewed, not by their own determination, but by remembering who God is.

Today, allow gratitude to become stronger than discouragement. Pause and remember the many ways God has carried you, provided for you and remained faithful throughout your life. Every reminder of His goodness strengthens your heart for the journey that still lies ahead.
