Episode overview
What Is Really Being Stolen?
Part two asks a searching question: what is really being stolen? Beyond possessions, people can be robbed of time, wages, dignity, trust, peace, opportunity and truth. Ben and Simon consider hidden forms of dishonesty, neglect, exploitation and manipulation that are easily normalised in families, workplaces, institutions and even churches. The episode calls for more than private innocence. Followers of Jesus are invited to restore what they can, defend those being exploited and become people whose presence creates trust rather than taking it away.

Key teaching points
Trust can be stolen
Broken promises, manipulation and concealed truth take something real from another person, even when no financial crime occurs.
Systems can hide exploitation
Unjust practices may become normal because many people participate in them. Scripture still calls God’s people to see and resist harm.
Repentance seeks restitution
Zacchaeus demonstrates that transformed faith does not stop at regret; it asks how damage can be repaired.
Christ leads toward abundant life
The thief takes and destroys, but Jesus gives life. Christian integrity should leave people safer, stronger and more fully seen.
