The final commandment reaches inward. Coveting is the restless desire for what belongs to someone else—their possessions, relationships, status, success or life. Ben and Simon discuss how comparison magnifies what we lack, how advertising and social media can train dissatisfaction, and how unchecked desire grows into destructive choices. The biblical answer is not passivity or lack of ambition. It is a heart anchored in God, able to celebrate another person’s blessing, pursue good work without envy and receive today’s provision with gratitude.
