Episode overview
Remember the Sabbath Day
The fourth commandment interrupts a culture that measures people by output. Sabbath is presented as a gift: time to stop, worship, breathe and remember that God sustains the world without our constant striving. Ben and Simon consider its roots in creation and liberation, Jesus’ teaching that the Sabbath was made for people, and the deeper rest found in Christ. This episode is a practical call to resist burnout, make room for God and rediscover a rhythm in which work, worship and rest remain in their proper place.

Key teaching points
Rest is part of God’s design
Sabbath begins in creation. Human beings were never designed for uninterrupted production and permanent hurry.
Stopping is an act of trust
Rest confesses that God is the provider and that the world does not depend upon our endless activity.
Sabbath protects freedom
Deuteronomy connects rest with release from slavery. God does not lead His people out of bondage so they can become slaves to work again.
Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath
The day is not a weapon of religious control; it is a gift that points to mercy, restoration and the deeper rest found in Christ.
