Unshakeable: A Daily Christian Devotional Podcast
What if one of the most sacred moments of Christian faith was not confined to a church building?
Reverend Ben Cooper invites listeners to pause, prepare simple elements and remember Jesus with reverence, gratitude and faith.
Communion at Home
Breaking bread, remembrance, repentance and peace.
Remembering His Love. Responding in Faith.
Communion, also known as Breaking Bread or the Lord’s Supper, is a sacred moment when Christians remember Jesus Christ: His body given, His blood poured out, His resurrection life and His promise to return.
It is not simply about bread and a cup. It is about the One they represent and the grace that welcomes us to come honestly before God.
Why Communion at Home?
The roots of remembrance stretch back to Passover in Exodus 12–13, where families remembered God’s rescue and faithfulness.
The New Testament then shows believers gathering around the Lord’s Supper as a proclamation of Jesus Christ.
The church is more than a building. Wherever we are, we can stop, examine our hearts, remember Christ and walk forward in peace.
Six Movements of Remembrance
Communion slows us down. It brings the heart back to Christ, back to grace, back to the family of faith and back to the hope still ahead.
Remember Jesus
We remember His life, His compassion, His obedience, His death on the cross and His resurrection victory.
Remember His Sacrifice
The bread reminds us of His body given for us, and the cup points us to the new covenant in His blood.
Give Thanks
Communion becomes a moment of worship, gratitude, humility and renewed wonder at the grace of God.
Examine Our Hearts
We pause before God with honesty, repentance, forgiveness and a desire to be renewed in Him.
We Are One Family
The Table reminds believers that we belong to Christ and to one another, called to peace and reconciliation.
Look Forward
Every time we break bread, we proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes and hold onto the promise of His return.
Preparing for Communion at Home

Make Room for God
Find a quiet moment. Allow the noise of the day to settle and turn your attention toward the Lord.
Bring Simple Elements
Prepare bread and a cup with reverence, remembering that Jesus is the focus of Communion.
Examine Your Heart
Ask God to search you, forgive you, heal you and renew your love for Him and others.
Take the Bread
Remember the body of Christ given for you, and give thanks for the sacrifice of Jesus.
Share the Cup
Remember the blood of Christ, the grace of God and the forgiveness offered through the cross.
Walk as a Peacemaker
Let the Table shape the way you live: reconciled to God, softened toward others and strengthened in faith.
Scripture Beneath the Practice

Lord Jesus,
We Remember You
Lord Jesus,
thank You for Your love,
Your grace and Your sacrifice.
As we come to the Table,
quiet our hearts
and turn our attention toward You.
Forgive us where we have failed.
Heal what is broken.
Restore what has been lost
and renew our faith.
As we take the bread,
we remember Your body given for us.
As we take the cup,
we remember Your blood poured out for us.
Help us to walk forward
with gratitude,
humility,
love and peace.
In the name of Jesus.
Amen.
“This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”Luke 22:19
Come. Remember. Give Thanks.
Take a moment to listen, prepare your heart and come again to the Table with faith, gratitude and peace.
