Hidden Treasure Mental Health
Sleep & Rest
Evening prayer, quiet Scripture and peace for the long hours of the night when thoughts will not settle and rest feels far away.
Slow the night down
Rest begins by reducing pressure
Stress, anxiety, grief, pain and changing routines can disturb sleep. You do not have to force sleep; focus first on making the body and mind feel safer and calmer.
Lower stimulation
Dim lights, reduce noise and move away from upsetting content or repeated checking.
Settle the body
Breathe gently, relax the jaw and shoulders, and make the out-breath slightly longer.
Release the pressure
Remind yourself that quiet rest still matters even when sleep does not come immediately.
Support for difficult nights
Racing thoughts
Write down the main worry and one action for tomorrow, then allow the issue to wait.
Repeated waking
Keep the room calm and avoid turning the night into a battle with the clock.
Ongoing problems
Speak with a GP when poor sleep persists, worsens or strongly affects daily life.
