Stress & Burnout

Find rest, reset and encouragement for an overwhelmed mind and exhausted body. Burnout is not laziness; it can be a sign that too much has been carried for too long.

Rest is not failure

Your body and mind may be asking for recovery

Stress and burnout can affect sleep, focus, patience, motivation and physical health. Recovery often begins by reducing pressure, asking for help and making room for genuine rest.

Reduce the load

Choose one task to postpone, simplify or share. Not everything has to be completed today.

Protect recovery

Build in food, hydration, sleep, quiet and breaks before exhaustion becomes a crisis.

Speak honestly

Tell a trusted person, manager, GP or support professional when pressure is affecting your wellbeing.

What burnout may feel like

Emotionally

Irritability, numbness, dread, frustration, tearfulness or feeling disconnected from things that once mattered.

Physically

Persistent tiredness, headaches, tension, poor sleep, stomach problems or feeling drained after small tasks.

In daily life

Difficulty concentrating, avoiding responsibilities, losing motivation or feeling that nothing you do is enough.

Scripture for the exhausted

Christ invites the weary to rest

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28

A prayer for stress and burnout

Lord Jesus, I am tired from carrying too much for too long. Help me release what is not mine to hold, accept the rest I need and ask for support without shame. Restore my strength and guide me toward a healthier pace. Amen.
